FAITH THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY & CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

Faith Theological Seminary & Christian College developed as the Institute of Ministry in 1984 through Faith Outreach Center in Tampa, FL, where the main campus resides to the present day. By 1987, the Institute became Faith Outreach Christian College as the administration and students desired more advanced educational opportunities. The college received its authorization status to grant degrees by the Florida State Board of Independent College and Universities in 1988.

From the inception of the vision for Faith Theological Seminary & Christian College, its President, Dr. George Walters (Senior Pastor of Faith Outreach Center), believed the institution should have a four-fold purpose by providing the following:

  • A basic foundation for beginning Christians in the Word of God to gain confidence in their relationship with the Lord Training for service in the local church (whether for staff members or volunteers), as well as training for older Christians to be able to provide support to the work of the ministry

  • A program to prepare people for ministry as they sense God's call on their lives

  • Advanced studies for the seasoned minister and the development of academic credentials for a life of ministry experience

The affiliate campus at the Lighthouse Freedom Center was developed in 1998 by Dr. Hank Furr, and is now represented by Senior Pastor Tony Samuels. Some of the graduates at the Lighthouse campus have now become professors, sharing the fundamental truths they've received with the next generation of students who have answered the call of God on their lives!
